College can feel far away when you are focused on getting through high school. But at Options for Youth (OFY), students do not have to wait until after graduation to start their college journey. They can begin while they are still earning their diploma.

Foster youth change schools an average of seven times during their time in care. Each move can mean lost credits, unfamiliar faces, and another fresh start that does not feel fresh at all.

This spring, students and staff atOptions For Youth(OFY) launched a community initiative with a clear objective: to ensure that residents of local senior care facilities felt recognized and celebrated. What began as a creative classroom project evolved into a meaningful bridge between the student body and the local community.

For many working teens, earning a paycheck is part of everyday life. Some help support their families. Others are building savings, gaining experience, or stepping into adult responsibilities earlier than expected.

Online schools can offer flexibility, but not all flexible learning experiences are the same. Some programs leave students to navigate coursework entirely on their own, with minimal interaction and limited support beyond digital lessons.

Becoming a parent while still in high school changes daily life in immediate and lasting ways. Time becomes limited, priorities shift quickly, and traditional school schedules often no longer work. For many young parents, continuing toward graduation feels overwhelming or unrealistic.

When students and families ask how to graduate sooner, the answer usually isn’t about one “magic” class. Graduating faster requires you to choose the right combination of courses and pair them with guided independent study, consistent teacher support, and a focused plan.
