A Different Way to Learn: Why OFY Works for Students Who Need Something More

Choosing a different path isn’t always easy—but it’s often the most empowering move you can make.

At Options For Youth (OFY), we believe that stepping away from the traditional system isn’t a step back. It takes courage to create an educational experience that truly fits your needs. Whether you're a student who has struggled to keep up, a parent looking for a better fit, or someone simply searching for an approach that makes sense, OFY is here for you.

At OFY, we do things differently (and it’s intentional). While traditional schools work best with conformity, we embrace what makes each student unique, and we provide a learning environment that meets them where they are.

Learn at Your Own Pace

Traditional schools often come with fixed schedules and large class sizes. At OFY, we know that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. That's why we’ve designed a school system that lets students work at their own pace. If you need more time on a subject or want to move ahead faster, OFY’s student-paced learning model lets you take control of your academics without falling behind.

We provide you with the resources and support to keep moving forward, no matter where you start.

Support Every Step of the Way

School can be tough, and sometimes you need a little extra help to get back on track. With small class sizes and personalized learning plans, you’ll never feel lost in the crowd. Our teachers, counselors, and mentors are dedicated to building real relationships with students, offering guidance when needed, and ensuring you stay on the path to success.

At OFY, our staff provides individual support, so you're never alone in your learning process.

A Fresh Start When You Need It

If things haven't gone as planned in the past, it's okay. Whether you’re making up credits, re-enrolling after falling behind, or simply looking for a new environment, OFY offers a fresh start. We don’t judge students based on their past. Our focus is on what’s possible now—with the right guidance, resources, and a team that truly believes in you.

Be Seen for Who You Really Are

Every student is unique. We don’t measure success by test scores alone; we focus on building real relationships and providing personalized learning experiences that cater to each student’s needs and goals. Whether you're seeking guidance with personal challenges or need help developing new skills, we see you as a person—not just a number.

Our student-centered approach means that your success is what matters most to us.

Building Real Futures

Going to high school is not just about getting a diploma, it’s about preparing for life beyond school. We believe it is where you build the skills, confidence, and direction you need for whatever comes next—college, career, or life. That’s why OFY offers Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, giving students the opportunity to explore hands-on fields like Nursing, IT, Cosmetology, and Construction. These CTE programs also provide industry-recognized certifications, allowing students to graduate with skills that lead to internships, entry-level jobs, or continued education.

Make a School Fit You

If traditional schools have left you feeling unseen, unheard, or unsupported, you’re not alone—and you’re not the problem. Everyone learns differently, and your education should reflect that. You shouldn’t have to change who you are to fit a system. The system should work for you.

Make the choice that works for you. Not for the school.
